It’s Thursday and that means it’s #3ThingsThursday! This linkup is hosted by Salma of The Write Balance, Raj of Pink Chai Living, and Nisha of Love Laugh Mirch. Make sure to check out what all these talented ladies have written for their 3 Things Thursday posts, as well as all the bloggers that have linked up this week!

#3thingsthursday

Today I’m sharing the three places and events I’m most excited about this summer. There are so many fun and interesting things happening in Vancouver, that it’s hard to narrow it down to just three, but here I’ve listed the three things that are at the top of my list! If you’re a Metro Vancouver local or visiting the Vancouver area this summer, you might want to join me at one of these fun locations!

1. Deer Lake Park

Vancouver is teeming with parks: some small, some vast, some bursting with flowers, some more kid friendly. One park that I really haven’t explored enough and would love to this summer is Deer Lake Park.
Not only is Deer Lake a great concert venue, it has beautiful trails, a gorgeous lake, and if it gets too hot out, you can even head to Burnaby Village Museum in the park and have a post-carousel ride ice-cream cone!

2. Food Cart Fest
What is it about food served from a truck that makes it all the more appetizing? I’ll have one of everything, please!
I’m honestly a little worried about this one. I may not be able to have any restraint when I check out the fourth annual Food Cart Fest! Every Sunday afternoon, all summer (from June 28 – September 6), nearly two dozen of the best food carts in Vancouver will all be gathered in one location for Vancouverites to enjoy! It’ll all be happening at 215 West 1st in Vancouver.
For those of you in Surrey, you can catch the action on July 25 in the afternoon at the City of Surrey Plaza, or if you’re in New Westminster, you can head to Columbia Street from 6th to Elliot on August 23 from 4 PM to 10 PM.

3. White Rock Sea Festival
Living in White Rock, one weekend I always enjoy is the annual Spirit of the Sea Festival. Every August long weekend, for the past 66 years, this festival has been a chance to head down to the beach, enjoy some live performances, join in on the Torchlight Parade, and view the sandcastle competition. While some years have been busier and better than other years, it’s an event that we always make a point of going out to!
In addition to the usual fun, this year will also feature the family friendly Pirates in the Park events, the stand-up paddle board event, and beachside yoga and Zumba classes!

Those are three of the things I can’t wait to do this summer. What are you looking forward to doing this summer?
